Crossing The Solent
The weather in UK in March 2012 was unusually hot and sunny. The Jump4Heroes team had recently added paramotoring to their range of flight capabilities and, having recently been training hard with the paramotors, couldn't pass up the opportunity that the weather presented.
After pouring over aviation maps and lots of internet research a plan was formed; cross from mainland UK, fly out over the sea and on to the Isle of Wight, along with former soldier Chris Gray. Always up for the challenge the decision was add a bit more spice to activity, as if crossing the sea wasn't enough! So why not buzz around the Needles, the western extremity of the Island consisting of three distinctive stacks of chalk that literally rise right out of the sea and are one of the wonders of UK. Then cruise some of the most beautiful coastline we've ever seen before returning to the mainland and cruise the beaches and the sea, waving to the crowds and gaining some great awareness for The Royal British Legion- after all, their logo is strewn across the 28 metre wing.
So that's what we did.
